Half Note Jazz Club has the opportunity to present Malia, this famous artist of music and life, for the first time in Greece. From Friday 23 to Monday 26 February.

Malia and band "Α sensational Jazz vocalist, who gives …Soul to the Blues"

What characterizes the amazing voice and path of the sensitive Malia, is that she can transcend the distinct boundaries of different musical styles from jazz to soul and from blues to neo-jazz while at the same time going through the very difficult situations of her life, in in her art.

Malia, born in East Africa - with a mother from Malawi and a British father - began to be interested in singing and was attracted to the stage from an early age, especially after she came to settle in London. Her idols were Billie Holiday, Sarah Vaughan and Nina Simone and the style of singing she flirted with was that of the 60's and 70's! While working as a waitress, she formed her own band to perform in London clubs. But the big change in her happened when she visited New York and heard the famous French singer, actress and presenter Liane Foly, performing a pop-jazz piece produced by the great musician André Manoukian.
