The right to access high-quality live performances belongs to everyone.

In this context, the Athens Concert Hall in collaboration with the Department of Music Studies of the Greek Academy of Music and the support of the ALZHEIMER Society of Athens are organizing a series of concerts that are friendly to people with dementia.

These concerts are distinguished by the following features, so that they are friendly to people with dementia:
Concert programs lasting up to 60' are presented, with short musical selections.
Oral introductions are made between the pieces by the musicians or by a specialized presenter.
They are interrupted by stretching breaks.
They are followed by question and answer sessions with the musicians

In a specially designed area of the Athens Music Hall (Educational Programs Area), listeners will have the opportunity to attend concerts by the musical ensembles of the Department of Music Studies of the Greek Academy of Athens under the direction of the department's teachers.

The repertoire covers a wide spectrum ranging from Greek traditional, folk music, urban song, new wave and classical music.

This specific action, following the approach of "relaxed performances" offers people with dementia the opportunity to enjoy concerts in a suitably prepared environment, with the support of specially trained staff of the Athens Concert Hall and students of the Department of Music Studies, EKPA .

The scientific curation of the concerts is supported by the "Music in the Community" program of the Music, Cognitive Sciences and Community Laboratory of TMS EKPA.
