Triggered by Castorf's show and the 100th anniversary of the birth of Maria Callas, the Epidaurus exhibition space reopens this year after 22 years, thanks to the valuable support of the Ministry of the Interior.

The reopening of the Museum will be inaugurated with a periodical exhibition dedicated to Medea which focuses on the presence of the tragic heroine in the Ancient Theater of Epidaurus since 1956 which welcomed the National Theater's Medea directed by Minotis with the legendary Katina Paxinos in the title role.

This periodic exhibition, which will be open throughout the performances in the Argolic theater, includes unique valuable documents from the archive collection of the Festival, but also of the other cultural organizations and troupes (National Theatre, THOK, "Athenion" Tsennis Theater Karezi - Costa Kazakou, Art Theatre, Desmoi, Spiros A. Evagelatos Amphitheatre, Municipal Regional Theater of Patras, Simple Theater etc.) who have staged Medea in Epidaurus, unfolding a unique retrospective of the performances of the Euripidean heroine in the most emblematic national landmark of Ancient Drama from the 1950s onwards.

performances are presented as part of the Athens Epidaurus Festival
(Friday & Saturday) from 18:00 to 01:00.
