The Hellenic American Union in collaboration with the "Photographic Circle" present the twelfth exhibition of the annual "Photographic Couples" series. The series presents the work of two photographers and members of the association "Photographic Circle", whose paths of life or photography meet.

This year, photographs of Nana Karamagiolis and Plato Rivellis are presented. The exhibition is curated by photographer Panos Rozakis.

Its curator, Panos Rozakis, comments on the work of the two photographers: "In the photographs exhibited in the two areas of the hall, the different glances of two fellow-travellers intersect. What connects their images is the common place and time of their production as and the occasion for their creation - the invitation of the cultural services of Cyprus for ten days of photography of the island in the spring of 1997. What differentiates them is the refraction of the common place through the prism of themselves.

Plato Rivelli chooses the strictness of the square frame, the
metaphysical silence of the empty spaces with the least traces of the human
presence and the perfect, clinical almost unnatural description of reality as a means of overcoming it.

Nana Karamagioli chooses with the naturalness of the rectangular frame to convey the feeling of a fleeting look at seemingly insignificant moments. He thus discovers behind the obvious and everyday a world of small surprises, tender details and mild emotions.

Ultimately, however, the common ground of their photographs is time. THE
Plato Rivellis, through the immobility of the spaces he chooses, us
talks about the traces of his irreversible movement, while Nana Karamagioli
capturing the movement of life composes a timeless world
immobility."
