Rania Ragou's solo exhibition entitled "Oh Yeah" is presented at the ALMA gallery.

In this series of works from the last four years, Rania Ragou masterfully mixes images of modern life with traces of the city's past. In the apparently ambiguous present lies the certainty of duration. A historical succession, a temporal palimpsest unfolds like a miracle, revealing a symmetry in the chaos, creating a subcutaneous feeling of security, duration, endurance.

Christoforos Marinos, curator of the exhibition, notes, among other things, in the text of the catalog:
"..Ragou paints five works in one, pictures within pictures. The work for her is indeed a palimpsest, which is built up with layers, erasures, overlays and deliberate mistakes repeated with different results... ...For Ragou there is no ideal or complete painting image. The seemingly realistic or normal - a space for example - suddenly becomes completely unreal, but also vice versa. The images she paints move, she says, between unreal and completely real. That is why she is interested in collage , which, beyond technique, as the primary form of postmodern discourse, governs the heterogeneous, multiple and paradoxical reality. It is worth noting here that the concept of the composition of heterogeneous images and motifs preoccupies her from the very beginning – and it is no coincidence that her thesis topic at ASKT was the intersection of cultures."
