Nelli Semitekolo and Lilia Boyatjieva, two performers with a long artistic career and a wide repertoire, present at Megaro, on Wednesday, December 6 at 8:30 p.m., a rare recital with original works as well as transcriptions for two pianos.
Among their selections for this special evening stands out Johannes Brahms' Sonata for Two Pianos in F minor, a different version of his famous Piano Quintet which also bears his own signature. The two distinguished pianists, in their musical journey from Romanticism to the 20th century, will also take us into the enchanting world of Sergey Prokofiev and George Gershwin. They will perform three excerpts from Prokofiev's popular ballet "Cinderella" transposed for two pianos by Mikhail Pletnev as well as Gershwin's much-loved "An American in Paris," a heavily jazz-influenced work that he himself transcribed for two pianos .
