Tribute to the musical spirit of France.
During the period of European peace, which began with the end of the Franco-Prussian War in 1871 and lasted until the start of World War I in 1914, French music flourished. In those years, the imposing composer César Franck will find himself in his absolute prime and maturity, while his students (including Vincent d'Andy) will write some of their best works. At the same time, Claude Debussy will open new paths towards an innovative music of impressionistic dimensions, while his example will be followed - in his own way - by the younger Maurice Ravel.
The Philharmonia Orchestra under the direction of conductor Byron Fidetzis, in collaboration with the Greek soloist and piano virtuoso Thodoris Tzovanakis, takes us on a journey to the magic and wealth of that era.
