The Blender Gallery presents Myrto Psychaki's solo exhibition entitled Articulate.

The work of Myrto Psychaki invites us to contemplation, it is an internal process that causes a mysterious, almost intuitive, opening. It appears as the imprint of a movement, as the indication of a route – a "route-wandering" as Kostas Axelos writes. The work thus becomes the recording of a course whose destination is the very experience of transition, change, action.

Myrto Psychaki unfolds in her work a game of coexistence between the empty and the full, in the intensity of the action and the stillness that surrounds it. The artist activates this game by choosing to deepen the interaction between fundamental elements of painting which she transforms into materials: light and dark, line and form, gesture and its pause, everyday life (the elements of urban landscape) and its transcendence.

We can also, recalling the ancient meaning of graphen, think that he paints words-poems-thoughts around the concept of evolution or, perhaps, more specifically, flow (the continuous movement of matter through space). Her seemingly simple movements seem to be the result of a single gesture. However, the density and intensity of the image betray the research and work required to create it. As in the traditions of Asian calligraphy which involve a very complex process of negotiation between knowledge, ritual (the set of actions that evolves in specific stages, the process that is laborious and also functions as a process of concentration), contemplation and creation.

Myrto Psychaki's relationship with the words that accompany her work is also very important: instead of defining the interpretation of the image, these words open it up. Referring to the archetypal relationship between writing and painting, between the symbol (as a concept), the sign and the trace, the sign, this dialogue gives the exhibition its title, Articulate.
