In its 49th year, the Aeschylia Festival 2023 closes this year, one of the most consistent and longest running in the Greek territory, which takes place in Elefsina, a city that lives at the pulse of creation and culture, as it is the Cultural Capital of Europe for 2023.

A modern city, but at the same time a sacred place with a rich historical and mythological past, bustling with events and transformed into a meeting point for the inhabitants of the basin and beyond, Elefsina is the ultimate cultural destination for the year we are passing through.

The Aeschylia Festival 2023 includes theatrical performances, concerts, a street opera, high aesthetic and quality cultural events, which highlight contemporary expression and creation through strictly selected proposals. The events will mainly take place in the emblematic Old Olive Oil Mill, with the Elefsina beach in the background, a place that has been inextricably linked to Aeschylia and has been loved by the art-loving public.

This year, this important year, the Festival expands its "horizons" thanks to the collaboration with the 2023 Elefsina European Capital of Culture and will activate public spaces in special locations of the city.

• Wednesday, September 6 Concert of Stavros Xarhakos with Yiannis Kotsiras and Iro Saia
• Thursday, September 7 "Fairytale without a name", by Penelope Delta
• Friday, September 8 The Error and Frank the Zapper with a full band
• Sunday, September 10, "Hippolytus" by Euripides
• Wednesday, September 13 "Oedipus the Tyrant" by Sophocles
• Friday, September 15 "A celebration for changing the world - Mystery 113" on the pedestrian street of Nikolaidou in Elefsina
• Sunday, September 17 Vassilis Papakonstantinou Concert
• Sunday, September 24, 8th Half Marathon Race "In the Footsteps of the Sacred Way".
