Blank Wall Gallery opens the 2023-2024 season with the solo exhibition of multi-award winning Belgian photographer Alain Schroeder.

Alain Schroeder was born in Belgium in 1955 and mainly deals with photojournalism. He has illustrated more than 30 books concerning China, Persia, the Renaissance, Tuscany, Crete, Venice, etc. He also has publications in magazines such as National Geographic, Geo, Paris-Match, etc. He has won many international awards in his multi-year career such as Japan Nikon Award, World Press Photo Award, Yves Rocher Foundation Photo Award and many others.

Four sections are presented in this report. Two black and white and two color. Alain finds it interesting to photograph both urban life and western lifestyle as well as issues related to ecology and humanity. In this exhibition there are black and white photos from a neighborhood café in Brussels and color photos from the Upper East End of New York, but also photos from Thailand of young children taking part in Muay Thai fights, an event that is part of the tradition and of their daily lives, but also images that show the extent of the ecological destruction that is taking place in many areas of the planet, especially in third world countries.
