Bernier/Eliades Gallery presents a new solo exhibition by Cameron Jamie. It is the artist's fifth solo exhibition at the gallery.

Cameron Jamie (b.1969, Los Angeles) occupies a special place in the contemporary art scene. His practice, which includes video, photography, performance, sculpture and drawing, is often described as a form of anthropological research that expands the concept of identity, highlighting the revivals of myth and fantasy in everyday life and popular culture. Originally from the suburbs of Los Angeles, and heavily influenced by West Coast popular culture, Jamie as an amateur recorder of urban culture, investigates the ritual practices in fringe or underground cultures that deconstruct the more general processes of normalization.

In his new exhibition he will present a set of bronze sculptures and paintings.
In his works one observes abstract and interwoven forms that develop by spreading, destroying and reconstructing in the context of an organic movement similar to the movement of the spider, which devours its prey in its webs. The source of these figures remains undetermined: a phenomenon that gives Jamie's work a unique and timeless energy. His works gradually reveal their magical dimension and cathartic power and bring to light the primordial instincts, the collective unconscious, the archaic myths of violence and brutality shared by all humanity, regardless of culture.
