The Zoumboulaki Gallery presents the first solo exhibition of the Spanish visual artist Clara Cebrián in Greece, entitled "Hello Adulthood".

In her first major solo exhibition in Athens, Clara Cebrián explores what it means to be an adult in today's age, contrasting stereotypes that accompany adulthood with childhood fantasies.

Cebrián's multi-dimensional work complicates ideas of abstraction, representation and materiality as she elaborates a set of pictorial and autobiographical references, giving intense narrative content to the simplest objects and situations.

In her pictorial narratives, adulthood takes the form of a high mountain peak which, when we reach it, we discover that this peak is ultimately a vast flat land that requires the effort of constant growth. Her imaginative works trigger a multitude of associations from repetitive patterns that harken back to the idea of ​​routine and stability, to household objects and tasks that pay homage to the meticulous domestic organization that parents usually suggest to their young children. In her playful sculptural installations, she intertwines applied and fine arts, incorporating materials she has collected during her travels. The sense of self is not something static, but is constantly evolving and changing.
