In "Electra" by Sophocles, Electra and Orestis avenge the murder of Agamemnon by Clytemnestra and Aegisthus, paying blood with blood. Deeply influenced by his time (late 5th century), possessed by a spirit of questioning, investigation and deconstruction, Sophocles chooses to narrate the myth of Atreides through the subjective gaze of Electra.

A look shattered by pain and mourning, which reflects, magnifies and sometimes distorts the reality that surrounds it.

The enigmatic and unexpected ending of the tragedy does not foreshadow any happy ending, neither for the heroine nor for the passions of her house. Sophocles does not take a position on the issue of matricide that preoccupied both Aeschylus and Euripides. As a cinematographer, he focuses his lens on Elektra's face, which after the wild celebrations for the success of the plan of revenge, remains strangely silent, a hollow mask, which one feels will never speak again.
