The musicological hoe of Byron Fidetzis brings to light another great work of Greek music. Written around the end of the first and explosive compositional period of the Corfu composer Spyros Samaras, "Lionella" was presented in the spring of 1891 at La Scala in Milan. Until the beginning of the 21st century there was no access to this particular work, with the exception of the small "Hungarian Rhapsody". The new orchestration was performed by Byron Fidetzis in 2021, based on the score of "Lionella", which seems to be the only one that has survived over the years.

The opera is about the passion of Hungarian nobleman and army officer, Andor, for gambling. This passion even wins his love for Lionella, a young, beautiful gypsy, who because of her great love for Andor renounced her family and her tribe.
