The Swallow by Giacomo Puccini.
Puccini's bittersweet love story makes a rare appearance on the Met stage, this time with soprano Angel Blue as the French courtesan Magda and tenor Jonathan Tetelman as Ruggero, the young romantic who offers her another life. Nicolas Zoel's direction is inspired by the Art Deco era and transports us from the heart of the Parisian night to the dreamlike atmosphere of the French Riviera. Conductor Speranza Scappucci conducts the orchestra, while soprano Emily Pogorelk as Lisette and tenor Bexod Davronov as Prunier round out the excellent cast.
