Better wages, decent health coverage and affordable housing the key targets in PM Mitsotakis' New Year message
After referring to the "imported inflation, which eats away at the average income", Mitsotakis also mentioned the "targeted efforts of the state to support society and the country's economy during any unforeseen challenge" that may arise in 2023.
The premier also referred to support measures that take effect on January 1, such as increased pension payouts and better salaries for NHS doctors, as well as the abolition of the solidarity levy for civil servants and pensioners.
He also insisted anew that it is a "national duty to maintain fiscal discipline," and he referred to the increase in the minimum wage that will take effect on April 1, 2023.
