A trio that has impressed, internationally, with the dynamism and freshness of its music, which spreads over a wide idiomatic range that expands the boundaries and meaning of modern jazz.

Marios Valinakis (saxophone and live electronics), Alexandros Delis (bass, guitar, electronic effects) and Panagiotis Kostopoulos (drums) seem to start from a base recognized as punk-jazz but with strong melodic and rhythmic elements that make the their music - at least as recorded on their first album, MOb1 - charmingly irresistible and full of surprises.

Their compositions balance open-form melodies with strong improvisational underpinnings and draw material from a variety of stylistic sources such as electronic jazz, krautrock, post-punk and other musical idioms, while also possessing a narrative reminiscent of great film score moments. The fact, also, that they do not belong to a strict jazz context, widens their acceptance to a diverse audience and makes them, from very early on, recognizable. MOb's debut album has already gained prominence on BBC Radio 1 playlists – including those of legendary DJ Gilles Peterson – while what particularly impressed international audiences was how the Athenian trio produced such a rich orchestral sound and, of course, , how he so creatively combined the experimental / futuristic sound with the craze of dance music.

With this line-up, MΟb have been playing sporadically since 2019 live in Greece but also in Hamburg and London – but their exciting first album is what places them in a prominent position both in the domestic live scene and in contemporary record production. Three musicians with very good studies and a multitude of creative ideas give us one of the most interesting musical projects of the year.
