For the seventh time, skywalker.gr – Work in Greece is organizing the Voluntary Action Festival at the Old Railway Station O.SY. on 23, 24 and 25 April 2024 (Tuesday 23 and Wednesday 24 April 10:00-22:00, Thursday 25 April 10:00-17:00).

The festival will be a natural meeting place for Non-Governmental Organizations, volunteers and citizens in a celebration of giving, cooperation and gratitude.

The purpose of the festival again this year is the convergence of the volunteering ecosystem and the promotion of the production of social goods in today's Greece.

Objectives of the Voluntary Action Festival 2024 are:
• Direct communication between Non-Governmental Organizations for the coordination and harmonization of their actions
• The reward and moral satisfaction of organizations and volunteers
• The connection of voluntary programs with corporate social responsibility resources
• The awareness, information and activation of citizens
The Voluntary Action Festival 2024 is aimed at:
• Non-Governmental Organizations that utilize voluntary work
• Volunteers and potential volunteers on a permanent and occasional basis
• Citizen initiatives and groups with social action
• Informal social groups with a role in Civil Society
• Executives and businesses with corporate social responsibility activities
• Local Self-Governing Organizations (OTA) Grade A and B (on the condition of representation with party and/or factional neutrality)

All voluntary organizations, groups and organizations will be able to attend the festival exhibition area participating in activities to inform visitors and present their work.

More specifically, the festival includes:
• Exhibition space with a stand for the presentation of voluntary organizations, groups, organizations and citizen initiatives and their activities. The space will be available to inform visitors and other exhibitors of the festival.
• Activity demonstration points. All interested exhibitors will be given the opportunity to present their activities with showtime at points suitably configured for demonstration with the participation of volunteers and visitors.
• Discussions-presentations with speakers from various Non-Governmental Organizations and other agencies on issues related to volunteering in Greece in 2024 and the synergies that can arise through volunteering.
• Theoretical and experiential seminars (workshop) with experienced lecturers for the training of volunteers, executives and representatives of NGOs. In order to watch them, pre-registration of the participants is necessary.
• Entertainment events and activities such as theater performances, concerts, big games, competitions, construction workshops, free expression circles and creative opportunities will take place in all zones of the festival.
• Honors and prizes in order for the festival to thank those who spontaneously offer every day and give a part of themselves for a more beautiful and hopeful future for those who need it. Volunteers who have distinguished themselves for their work, groups who give selflessly, founding officers of organizations, programs and innovative ideas are awarded.
