Athens Photo World, in collaboration with the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center (SNFCC) and the WHO Europe Care Quality Office in Athens, is organizing its main photography exhibition for this year entitled "Focusing on Health - 75 years of progress and challenges" " at the Atrium of the 4th floor of the National Library of Greece (NBH) at the SNFCC from May 18 until June 30, 2023.

The exhibition is inspired by and dedicated to the 75th anniversary
operation of the World Health Organization, in its contribution to the progress of health care, to the ongoing developments and, at the same time, to the response to the challenges that arise from time to time. At the same time, the exhibition hopes to present the International Organization from its human side, giving the public the opportunity to get to know the work of P.O.Y. outside statistics, numbers, data and instructions, beyond narrow medical and scientific barriers, through images of a familiar and accessible world, of which we are all members.

The photographs of more than eighty photographers, including
which the famous Robert Doisneau, the guest of Athens Photo World and the SNFCC in 2021 Paolo Pellegrin of the Magnum agency, but also the more widely known to the Greek public Angelos Barai, Dimitris Kontos and Marios Kourouniotis, cover the 75-year course and activity of P.O .Y.

The exhibition was curated by the Athens Photo World team, Thanasis
Stavrakis, Yiannis Kolesidis and Vangelis Tatsis.

Athens Photo World 2023 is supported by the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center (SNFCC), the Region of Attica, the Municipality of Athens and OPANDA, the National Garden, the Athens Concert Hall and the European PressPhoto Agency (EPA).
