About

The National Conservatory was founded in 1926 by the composer Manolis Kalomiris and a group of personalities from the wider musical and artistic field. The purpose of the National Conservatory was not only to train musicians but to attract and cultivate a new audience.

A few words about the event:
The ancient Greek philosopher, Plato, had said "Music is a moral rule. It gives soul to the universe, wings to thought, soars imagination, gives joy to sorrow and life to everything."

In this summer evening with the theme of Greek music, some of the best-known melodies of Greek music history will be heard, from traditional, artistic and popular music.

Works by great artists will be presented, such as M. Kalomiris, N. Skalkotas, N. Chatziapostolou, A. Baltas, M. Christodoulidis, A. Argyrou, M. Plessas, L. Mahairitsas, A. Ioannidis and M. Vamvakaris et al. Of course, works by Cypriot creators or works related to Cyprus could not be missing. Musical ensembles with students and professors of the Conservatory, both from the classical and contemporary departments, as well as its children's and mixed choirs, participate.
