About

The Museum of the Vassilis & Elizas Goulandris Foundation is dedicating its upcoming periodical exhibition to the primary role of the multiple in modern and contemporary art.

For this purpose, approximately ninety lithographs, engravings and ceramics from the Foundation Collection, bearing the signatures of eight leading artists of the 19th and
20th century: Aristide Maillol (1861-1944), Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec (1864-1901), Henri Matisse (1869-1954), Fernand Léger (1881-1955), Pablo Picasso (1881-1973), Georges Braque (1882 -1954), Joan Miró (1893-1983) and Balthus (1908-2001).

The centralized presentation of these works will give visitors the opportunity to re-read their history through two perspectives. First, by considering them as a set of "memories bathed in dream", in the so lyrical description of the Guatemalan writer Miguel Ángel Asturias.

The exhibition is accompanied by a bilingual catalog (in Greek and English), which has been compiled by the curator of the exhibition Maria Koutsomalli-Moreau and is published by the B&E Goulandris Foundation edited by Mikri Arktos.

During the exhibition there will be guided tours for the public in Greek and English and educational programs for children, from the end of September.

Curator of the exhibition: Maria Koutsomalli-Moreau, Collection Manager of the B&E Goulandris Foundation

The Museum will be closed: August 15, October 28
