Skoufa Gallery presents the new solo exhibition of Tina Karageorgis entitled "Future Perfect".
Opening: Thursday, March 14, 2024, at 19:30
The exhibition presents a series of handmade paper works, as well as a series of sculptural works, which the artist has been creating over the past 2 years.
Future Perfect: "Future Perfect / Future Perfect" or (sarcastically) "Future Perfect / Future Perfect". The preference for the English version is precisely due to its ambiguity. The Greek version, "Mellon Tetelsmeno", in the future tense, is uncompromisingly definitive, leaving no room for other interpretation.
My subject is time as a dimension and as a state of nature in danger, of nature with a completed future. In the inexorable "They will be gone", I try to oppose the hope of an enduring future: "They will exist", "they will survive".
The flowers, the leaves, the nature that surrounds us, all these become inner states. They are in a timeless state of duration. All these could be memories now.
