Bill on reducing tax evasion passes in parliament; roll-call vote on four articles

A bill on "Measures to restrict tax evasion" by the National Economy and Finance Ministry that created controversy because of new taxation rules for freelancers was voted into law on Thursday.
A bill on "Measures to restrict tax evasion" by the National Economy and Finance Ministry that created controversy because of new taxation rules for freelancers was voted into law on Thursday.

A total of 158 deputies (all of ruling New Democracy's MPs) voted for it in principle, while 140 voted against it.
Main opposition SYRIZA, PASOK-KINAL, and the Communist Party had requested roll-call votes, each on specific articles (7, 15, 40, 50). 

For article 7 on fines levelled for violations in retail sector receipts, 169 deputies voted for it, 129 against.

For article 15 on freelancer tax calculations, 158 voted for, 140 against.

For article 40 on reducing capital gains tax, 158 voted for, 140 against.

For article 50 on reducing the sales tax on sale of stocks on the Athens Stock Exchange, 158 voted for, 140 against.
