Thursday’s Photographer Meetings
In Thursday’s Meetings, Platon Rivellis selects and presents contemporary Greek photographers - members of the "Photographic Circle", analyzes their artwork, and talks to them about their themes, approaches, and creative choices. The audience then asks questions and share thoughts on the photos shown.
The year’s first presentation takes place on January 18th, 19:00 and focuses on the work of photographers Irene Panagiotis, Yiorgos Mavrogonatos and Lia Zanni.
The presentations will be delivered through Zoom with free participation for all with reservations.
BIO
Platon Rivellis was born in Athens in 1945. He studied Law in Athens (1963-1968), Political Science in Paris (1968-1970) and Photography in the USA (1983). He worked as a lawyer in Athens for twelve years (1971-1983). He has been teaching photography since 1981 until today. He organized the standard photography classes of the Popular Education (Ministry of Education) and taught their trainers. He has edited a number of state television programs on photography. He has delivered many seminars and lectures on photography in Athens, in provincial cities and in Cyprus. He has exhibited his photographs in individual and group exhibitions. His articles have been published in many Greek magazines and newspapers. He directs "Photochoros" publications. In 1988, he founded the association "Photographic Circle", of which he is the president. He has written technical books, theoretical books and scrapbooks.
