"This victory also means a lot to me"

Stefanos Tsitsipas made a great appearance and got a comfortable qualification for the "16" of the Australian Open. The Greek champion after the match praised Van Asse and stated that this victory means a lot to him

On Van Asse: "I remember myself at this stage. He's a good opponent and I look out for him. He plays beautiful tennis and today he played unbelievable. He fought hard from the start. I have to give him credit, he gave it his all. I think the the fact that I'm a little more experienced played a role. This win means a lot to me as well."

On what he likes about the Australian Open and playing well in Melbourne: "First the people, the weather, the food. I don't drink coffee, but I've heard they have one of the best coffees in the world. Everything is perfect here. It's by far the best Grand Slam tournament as an experience. I feel that the best experience is created, the food is good, everything is clean and organized. I feel good and that leads me to play good tennis.

On the fact that he came in more aggressively than in his previous games: "I wanted to start stronger than in my previous games. It's not easy to always come back from 0-1 down. I wanted to show dynamism from the start. I was pushing myself constantly to outdo myself and I was happy that everything went well from the 2nd set onwards."
