Sakkari entered the court determined and with two breaks, in the first and the third game, she gained a safe lead and, after holding her serve, easily won the first set 6-2 after 44 minutes.
There was a similar picture in the second set, with the leading Greek tennis player of all time breaking in the third and seventh games and after just 36 minutes, reaching victory 2-0 (6-2, 6-2).
Sakkari's opponent in the semi-final, with a "prize" of a place in the final of the event, will be the American Jessica Pegula (No. 4 in the world), who prevailed in the quarter-final against the Russian Daria Kasatkina (No. 13) with 6-1, 6- 0.
