In the first set, Sakkari led 2-0 against Hibino, but the tennis player from Japan answered with a "break" and equalized 2-2.

The two tennis players thus made it 4-4, where Sakkari managed to take the next two games and "close" the set with 6-4.

In the second set, the Greek tennis player raced to a 5-0 lead to reach 6-1 and the second round victory after a match lasting one hour and 11 minutes.

With this victory, Maria Sakkari will face the Russian Elina Avanesyan (No. 71), who prevailed in the first round against the Chinese Zhuoxuan Bai with 2-1 sets (4-6, 7-5, 6-2).
