After a sensational match that started yesterday and ended today, Stefanos Tsitsipas prevailed with a 3-2 set against Dominic Thiem and advanced to the second round of Wimbledon, where he will face Andy Murray.

The sets: 3-6, 7-6 (1), 6-2, 6-7 (5), 7-6 (8)

The bad start he had at noon on Tuesday (4/07), when he found himself losing the first set, was left behind by Stefanos Tsitsipas in... the second installment of the match against Dominic Thiem.

After almost 4 hours of match, the Greek champion managed to bend the resistance of the Austrian, who for the most part of the match showed some of the excellent elements that had brought him in previous years to the elite of world tennis.

In the end, however, the one who celebrated in the final was Tsitsipas, who "booked" Thursday's date with Andy Murray and for the first time in his career he will be on the famous Center Court of Wimbledon facing the favorite child of the British.

Compared to his sluggish start yesterday, today Tsitsipas was... a different tennis player. He entered the court determined, played very aggressively, going up to the net a total of 64 times and finishing 46 balls.

Thiem was dominant in the first set which he took 6-3, breaking twice on Tsitsipas' serve. In the 2nd set the rain made its appearance, leading the game to a final stoppage.

The match started today with the Greeks leading 4-3 in the game. The 24-year-old needed the tiebreak to level, dropping just one point and showing his opponent that he's... back for good.

The third set, which lasted 38 minutes, turned into a monologue by Tsitsipas. He closed it 6-2 and took a 2-1 set lead. Tim, however, did not give up. He improved significantly in the 4th set and with a "weapon" of his excellent serve he managed to reach the tie break (2-2).

Everything was decided in the 5th set, where again the two gladiators held their serve and resolved their differences in the third tiebreak. Both broke the other's serve once and an error by Thiem led Tsitsipas to a second match point. He didn't succeed, but immediately after he responded with a new break on Tim's serve and celebrated the great victory with 10-8.
