Athens taxi drivers are set to stage a strike spanning February 27th to 28th, following a decision made during an exceptional session of the Attica Taxi Drivers’ Union (SATΑ) administrative council on Wednesday.

The drivers have voiced vehement opposition to the government’s economic policies, labeling them as a catalyst for conflict. They argue that these policies systematically undermine various forms of independent entrepreneurship throughout Greece.

Amidst the strike action, SATA plans to convene a comprehensive assembly of the sector at the Peristeri Exhibition Center on February 28th. The aim is to realign their founding principles with the current legislative framework.

Furthermore, taxi drivers intend to stage a protest rally and march towards the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport. SATA is urging taxi drivers nationwide to participate in this mobilization effort.
