Deputy Health Min. Agapidaki stresses AI impact on health sector

Artificial Intelligence is developing rapidly and is expected to have a significant impact on the health sector, Deputy Health Minister Irene Agapidaki said on Friday, adding that its use can have multiple positive effects and be a useful tool for the scientific community.
Artificial Intelligence is developing rapidly and is expected to have a significant impact on the health sector, Deputy Health Minister Irene Agapidaki said on Friday, adding that its use can have multiple positive effects and be a useful tool for the scientific community.

 Agapidaki spoke at the presentation of the National Bioethics and Technoethics Committee's opinion on "Applications of Artificial Intelligence in Health in Greece."

As she stated, artificial intelligence can be utilized for diagnosis/early prognosis, therapeutic choices, overall assessment of the needs for each patient separately, dragging along the entire organization of healthcare systems. Agapidaki estimated that in the future, artificial intelligence will play an even more crucial role in the production of new drugs.
