On December 31, we put on our festive attire and ring in the new year with a phantasmagoria of fireworks, live music, a huge party, the first race of the year and, of course, ice skating into the night!

The New Year’s Eve program opens at 22.30 with African-Greek Idra Kayne in a spectacular music show, which she will present together with her 10-member band. A musical journey through the epoch-making disco, soul, hip hop and R&B hits from the ’80s to the present day. From the mesmerizing Donna Summer and the glamorous Dianna Ross to the extraordinary Whitney Houston and our contemporary Dua Lipa, and from the prolific Mary J. Blige to Gorillaz, Eminem and Jay-Z, we will dance and sing out loud to welcome a bright and promising 2024.

The New Year is ushered in with a spectacle of fireworks that will light up the Athenian sky, while the first few minutes of 2024 mark the start of the first race of the year, the long-established SNF RUN: 2024 FIRST RUN of the Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF).

On this most hopeful night of the year, a huge party featuring iconic DJs is staged at the Agora. This year, we welcome Bill Brewster, one of the founders of London’s renowned Fabric dance club, best known for his imaginative way of mixing together many different kinds of music — from acid house and hip hop to disco and rock — to create a party atmosphere wherever he goes.

Naturally, the New Year’s Eve program includes the impressive choreographies of the Fountains at the Canal, while the entire extravaganza is hosted by Nandia Kontogeorgi.

At the same time, the Ice Rink and Stavros Niarchos Park will stay open until 2 in the morning, just for this one night, for all those who wish to ring in the New Year with some figure-skating or playing with the impressive Light Installations. Unexpected treats and many more surprises complement the New Year’s Eve setting at the SNFCC.

The SNFCC’s festive event will be broadcast live by ERT3 and live-streamed on snfcc.org.

Idra Kayne
Idra Kayne was born and raised in Greece by a Greek mother and a Ugandan father. She is considered the revelation of the soul-funk scene of our country, with domestic media extolling both her vocal abilities and her stage presence, commenting that, “her voice has an impressive depth, the ideal soulful rasp of a black diva.”

Bill Brewster
Whether stirring up a vast London club with his unique selections of deep and acid house music, or constructing, step by step and song by song, an imaginative DJ set featuring disco, Balearic, rock and hip-hop tracks, or playing chill-out music in the early afternoon, Bill Brewster is the man for all (musical) occasions.

He started out as a DJ during the 1980s, but his fame soared in the early 1990s, during his stay in New York City, where he ran the office of DMC (Disco Mix Club), organizer of the famous namesake DJ competition, and mixed music at Sound Factory alongside the great Danny Tenaglia.

Brewster was also one of the founders of London’s renowned Fabric dance club. During breaks from his eclectic and ever exciting DJ sets, he is engaged in writing, having already released four books on “DJ culture,”, including Last Night a DJ Saved My Life and How to DJ Properly.
