Objectives of the National Communication Registry
The EMEp was designed with the aim of facilitating the provision of digital public services to citizens through gov.gr. The main objectives of the EMEP are twofold:

The first objective concerns the creation of a central, unique point of registration of the contact details of natural persons, so that:

On the one hand, the citizen, every time there is a change in his contact details, to inform a point without having to visit different physical or digital points to declare the change.

On the other hand, the public bodies should be able to obtain updated contact information in order to communicate promptly and seamlessly with natural persons.

The second objective concerns strengthening the security of digital transactions with public services provided through Gov.gr. Strong authentication is activated, which is achieved by sending a one-time code to the confirmed mobile registered for the citizen in the EMEp.
