Mitsotakis' trip to the USA canceled

The health condition of Kyriakos Mitsotakis did not finally allow him to travel to the USA, as planned. The Greek Prime Minister was left with a fever due to H1N1 flu diagnosed on his way back from Davos and as a result the trip was cancelled.

The health condition of Kyriakos Mitsotakis did not finally allow him to travel to the USA, as planned. The Greek Prime Minister was left with a fever due to H1N1 flu diagnosed on his way back from Davos and as a result the trip was cancelled.

At the same time, the cabinet meeting will reportedly take place on Wednesday or Thursday, depending on the course of the prime minister's recovery, while as it became known, his speech in the Parliament on the discussion of the bill on the postal vote was also cancelled.

Meanwhile, the prime minister had a telephone conversation with United States Secretary of State Anthony Blicken.

During the communication, the situation in Gaza, the developments in the Red Sea and the risks to freedom of navigation from the Houthi attacks were discussed.

Kyriakos Mitsotakis and Anthony Blinken also discussed bilateral issues, in view of the start of the next round of the Greece-US Strategic Dialogue in February in Washington.
