Heavy rain and thunderstor on Tuesday across the country
The most intense phenomena will be located from the beginning of the day in Western Greece and after noon they will extend to Eastern Macedonia, Thrace, the Aegean islands and Crete, with an emphasis on the Eastern Aegean islands and the Dodecanese. Heavy snowfall will occur in the mountainous continental areas, with indicative altitudes above 1,000-1,100 meters in Epirus and Western Macedonia and above 1,400-1,500 meters in the rest.
The temperature, according to the meteo of the National Observatory of Athens, will vary in Western Macedonia from 1 to 9 degrees, in the rest of Northern Greece from 4 to 14, in Epirus from 6 to 13 degrees, in Thessaly from 5 to 15, in the rest of the mainland from 9 to 16 degrees, in the Ionian islands from 10 to 15 and in the Aegean islands and Crete from 11 to 16-18 degrees Celsius.
The winds in the Aegean will initially blow from the south with intensities of 7-8 Beaufort and from the afternoon southwest with a slight weakening to 6-7 Beaufort. In Ionian, the winds will initially blow west southwest with intensities of 6-7 Beaufort and from the afternoon northwest with the same intensities.
Clouds are expected in Attica, with rain and storms in the morning hours. The effects will be transiently intense and may be accompanied by temporary hail. In the afternoon the weather will show an improvement, however there is an increased chance of temporary rain in places in the afternoon-evening hours. Winds will blow from south directions with intensities of 6-7 Beaufort and from the afternoon from west directions with intensities of 5-6 Beaufort. The temperature will range from 13 to 16 degrees.
In Thessaloniki, clouds with rain are expected mainly until noon, while afterwards there is a possibility of light rain in places and at times. The winds will blow from the south with intensities of 4-5 Beaufort and then the west northwest with the same intensities. The temperature will range from 10 to 13 degrees.
